When Shanna reached out for me to capture her and David’s maternity photos, it was a real honor. You see the small world continues to shrink, Shanna and I went to college together about 5 hours away from Rochester. It was a small school and our paths occasionally crossed while we were there since we were in the same year but that was the essence of our relationship. We knew each other existed, occasionally shared space at the same dining hall table, and became facebook friends. What neither of us prepared for was that 10 years later in a very twisty, turny way, we would be living about 15 minutes away from each other. I was ecstatic that she thought of me when the time came to capture the excitement of their little love (who should be here any day now!).

We met at one of my favorite spots along the Erie Canal and I quickly learned that this may be the cutest couple in the world. Shanna and David balance each other so well and their love and like for one another is hard to miss. I smiled throughout our whole time together.

I think these two were made to be parents of a girl and cannot wait to see them raise them in the Western New York way. She’ll be a Bills Mafia member from birth (and we wouldn’t have it any other way.)

After exploring the Erie Canal path in Fairport, Shanna, David, and I scooted over to one of the many coffee shops you can find in the Village of Fairport. Lattes and teas in hand, we sat down and chatted about life, their plans, and we even reminsced over college, catching each other up on the classmates we stayed close with (like I said, small school, everyone knows everyone). We grabbed a few more photographs together and walked away knowing that this was just the beginning of a friendship 13 years in the making.
