Pat & Stephanie Rochester NY Hockey Rink Engagement Session

Whenever a couple and I begin planning their engagement session, I love learning more about them to figure out options that speak to who they are. Engagement sessions are the perfect time to fit in your personalities into meaningful images that celebrate such a special, and often, short, time in your relationship. For Stephnie and Pat, we connected over a few different things they enjoyed including Taylor Swift (hello fellow swifties <3) and Pat’s love of hockey. We decided to have a split session where we started outdoors and then moved indoors to a hockey rink Pat frequents and they could don their favorite hockey jerseys for a more casual look.

“Drop Everything now. Meet me in the pouring rain.”

It’s quite clear that our mutual love for Taylor Swift meant that it was bound to rain during their session. But these two chose to embrace it and made the first half of our session so much fun. We walked with umbrellas, danced in the rain, and hardly noticed the water as I saw Sparks Fly between them, and made the shoot an absolute breeze. Watching these two be absolutely Fearless made me look forward to next December because I know we are going to have The Best Day.

Okay enough of the Taylor references…

I love when my vision for your engagement session overlaps with yours because that is when the magic happens. Pat and Steph wanted to incorporate hockey in their save the dates and engagement announcement and came prepared. They brought props to the shoot and even though we weren’t the only ones at the rink, it sure felt like it as once again the love these two have for each other overtook the mood and made creating these images effortless.

Cheers to the future Mr. and Mrs!
