Alex & Joel-Jackrabbit Club Rochester, NY Wedding

When Alex, Joel, and I on connecting on the phone, it was a beautiful summer afternoon and the sunshine was 100% shining through our conversation. They spoke about how they wanted to have a celebration of their relationship focused on the loved ones who had been by their side for the last 10 years. It seemed like the getting married part was just a check mark to make and the dinner, reception, and intentional group photographs were the most important part of their day. As a girlie who definitely has the spiritual gift of hospitality, I loved everything about this!

I first met A + J at a wedding show in the spring of 2023 and was ecstatic to share with them that I was available for their fall 2023 wedding. It was my last available Saturday and hoped they would snag it. A few weeks later, one email and one phone call later, we were locked in for October 6th. Their wedding party would be two best friends on both sides, their officiant a life long friend, and family members would be interwined throughout the day.

Alex and Joel opted to get ready in different suites at the School 31 Lofts in the Neighborhood of the Arts, walking distance to the Jackrabbit Club. We used the city-eqsue courtyard for their first look before walking over to the MAG to capture additional portraits and their bridal party photographs. To say we had a good time would be an understatement. The laughter and smiles on everyone’s faces were infectious.

Afterwards, we walked over to Jackrabbit Club where we met A + J’s family and captured their family photographs. The one part of the gallery that they both shared would be the most important part. I loved keeping my camera up and capturing the in-between moments that came as family members saw their loved ones on their wedding day. Tears were shed to say the least.

Following the family portraits, we prepped for a heartfelt ceremony. The handwritten vows celebrated the. first 10 years of their relationship and dreamed of the future they would have together. A first kiss and a celebratory walk down the aisle took us straight to cocktail hour and their reception filled with memorable toasts, lots of group photos, and a LIT dancefloor from DJ Ish and Vanguard Events.

Throughout the wedding day, Alex, Joel, and I would sneak out onto the streets around their venue to capture their portraits. We had the most beautiful day to soak in the urban vibes and fall colors. If I chose three words to capture their wedding day, they would be meaningful, intentional, and, of course, fun! I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of such a special evening.
